In continuation of the Lagos Red Line rail project, the Lagos State Government will from Saturday begin the diversion of traffic from Kayode/Ogunmokun Streets, Mushin, the exercise would last till July 20, 2022, the Commissioner for Transportation Dr Frederic Oladeinde has said.
Disclosing this in a statement yesterday, Oladeinde explained that the pilling works will take a stretch of four months to allow the contractor achieve the desired results for the rail line.
He added that alternative routes have been provided for road users during the course of the construction, noting that motorists on Kayode Street will be diverted to Jibowu to connect Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway to access Ogunmokun Street.
He further stated that motorists on Ogunmokun Street will be diverted to Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway, Ilupeju Bypass, to access Ikorodu Road to continue their journey.
Oladeinde while appealing to motorists to comply with traffic directions, said LASTMA officials will be deployed along the affected routes to manage traffic flow and minimize inconvenience.
He urged residents along these corridors to support the project which is aimed at achieving a seamless multi-modal transport system that will meet their transportation needs.
