Lagos State Government has announced the extension of traffic diversion on Murtala Mohammed Way which will span from Wednesday1st June 2022 till 30th September, 2022.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, who disclosed this on Tuesday, explained that there will be a total lane closure to allow the contractor work without any inhibition during the course of the construction.
Oladeinde further stated that traffic on Murtala Mohammed way will be diverted to Ojuelegba- Tejuosho slip road to link Muritala Mohammed Way.
The Commissioner assured that the site will be cordon off for the safety of the citizenry, adding that emergency vehicles will be on ground to tow broken-down vehicles along the axis. He also stated that signage’s will be placed on the access roads with the State’s Traffic Management Authority to control movement and minimize inconveniences
The State Government reiterated its continuous commitment towards the development of transport infrastructure within the metropolis, maintaining that it is vital for the Multi-modal Transportation System of the State Government which will in turn boost the economic prowess of the citizenry.
