Makinde is a straight forward person, says Lagos Majority Leader

The Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly,Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, has described Hon. Rasheed Makinde as a straight forward person and a selfless politician, whose passion is service to humanity.

Agunbiade made the remarks at the symposium marking the 50th birthday anniversary of the lawmaker.

Agunbiade who graced the occasion along with some other colleagues, was quick to note the impressive turn out of Makinde’s constituents and well wishers, stating this affirms his impact in the community.

The Majority Leader who represents the Ikorodu constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly, while officiating the cutting of the birthday cake by the celebrant added the essence of life is positive impact,as a new batch of youngsters in their hundreds are to commence ICT training from Hon. Makinde’s benevolence.

In his words,”The celebrant is a very calm and focused person,in the house of assembly he makes very valuable contributions whenever there is a discussion and he is a man that is very good to everybody.

“He is very amiable and people like him for his generosity, for been calm, he is a very straight forward person that is why we have come here today to celebrate with him.

“My advise to the celebrant is to continue to do what he has been doing that adheres him to the heart of the people, he should not change.

“He should continue to do more things that he has been doing which made people to love him,you see how people trouped out from his constituency to support him and from different walks of live too.

“It shows he is nice at home and in the community too,God will strengthen him to do more for humanity, for all that he has done today for people,God almighty would also do more for him and replenish his pocket.

One of the guest lecturer at the symposium, Mr Ayo Aderinwale founder of the Justrite Superstore, whose lecture touched on addressing a poverty riddled mindset, espoused to the audience secret of breaking ones fallow ground in business to attain enviable heights in live,with self live account of starting from a very low level.

He eulogized the celebrant for choosing to empower people on his birthday with a symposium, rather than just merriment,as he urge him to have a quarterly forum to liberate people.

“This birthday celebration of Honourable Makinde is unique in that he is a person that is interested in sustainable prosperity and progress for his people,based on information and education. 

“Only a true leader will bring out other true leaders,he has always been given to investment in the people.

” Most of us create a mental prison,where we keep ourselves,a barrier we cannot penetrate,deal with your mental poverty by thinking positively.

“Your mind determines your attitude, your attitude determines how far you will go,if you have the wrong mindset you will be unable to know that ,in every crisis there is danger and opportunity you need to be focused.

“You are a solution provider,you need to find ways of overcoming situation rather than sit down and put your hands on the head and say look at what God has done to me.

“How can God abandon me,no God gave you a brain,use it and solve the problem. When you are a problem solver the society will reward you. He should continue the initiative that he has started.

A youth ambassador Mr Dayo Israel, the second guest lecturer at the symposium also devolves the intricate differentials of the three arms of government, noting that the people should invest in their leaders as they are bearers of the torch of success.

The third guest lecturer Mallam Abdulahi Haruna,the Publisher of World Entourage Magazine in Abuja,address the recurrence of depression in the society stating that much sensitization about the causes of depression is needed, so as to raise the warning flags and debar whoever has such intention early enough.

Earlier the Planning Committee Chairman of the birthday symposium,Comrade Sulaiman Wasiu GSK,the Ejigbo NNPC depot IPMAN financial Secretary, harped on the reasons for the symposium.

“We have carefully selected topics of discussions and our distinguished guest lecturers are well thought out,to do justice to the various topics highlighted for the event.  

“These we have put in place to celebrate our mentor, leader and role model, Hon. Tpl. Rasheed Makinde, a man who has always wish us well, today you see people of timber and caliber as part of his team, this is because he had always wish us well. 

“Most times he took over our challenges, solve them for us and make us understand the sky is our starting point in politics, if we can toe the path of integrity and show strong desire for development,  not just for self gain but societal good.” Sulaiman said.

Some of the dignitaries that graced the occasion are;Hon. Kehinde Joseph Alimosho Constituency II,Hon. Desmond Elliot Surulere II, Hon. Setonji David Badagry I,Hon. Nureni Akinsanya Mushin I, Hon. James Owolabi Ifako Ijaiye Federal constituency and Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Urban Development Mr.Idris Salako.

Others are former Hon. Saka Fafunmi and Hon. Ahmed Omisoore. High Chief Gbemisola Dada,Ojokoro Paramount Ruler Oba Oluwalambe Taiwo, Ojokoro LCDA Council Chairman Hameed Tijani and other political stakeholders.
