Man, 31, docked for allegedly raping two minors

An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday ordered that one Hussein Isah, 31, should be kept in police custody over alleged rape of two minors.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abdulhamid Lawal, who did not take the plea of Isah ordered that the defendant should be kept in police custody, pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Lawal then orders the prosecutor to return the case file to the DPP for legal advice.

He adjourned the case until Feb.19 for mention.

The defendant, whose address was not provided,  is facing a charge of rape.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Sgt. Olubu Apata told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 1 at Ilasa Ekiti.Apata alleged that the defendant raped an 11-year-old girl and 12-years-old girl, who usually play in the house.

“He used the opportunity to rape the girls, “ the prosecutor said.

Apata said the offence contravened Section 31(2) of the Child Right Law of Ekiti State, 2012.
