A 24-year-old man, Idowu Tiamiyu, yesterday appeared at an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stabbing his co-tenant, Seun Olapade, with a broken bottle on the head and hand.
Tiamiyu pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutor Ferdinand Asu said the defendant committed the offence on November 8 at their house.
He said the defendant beat up Olapade to a pulp and also stabbed him.
“The fight started as a result of an argument that ensued between them. The defendant claimed that the complainant was rude to him; so he decided to teach him a lesson by beating him up.
“Efforts by other tenants to settle the dispute failed,” Asu said.
Chief Magistrate Michael Olubi granted the defendant N50, 000 bail with two sureties in the like sum.
He adjourned till December 12.
