FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, confirmed the accident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Monday.
Irelewuyi said that the accident, which occurred at about 4:15 pm., could be attributed to brake failure and loss of control.

“The driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road and fell on its side. The passenger on top of the trailer fell and hit his head.
“Six persons, including four male adults and two female adults, were involved in the crash.
“The victims were taken to St. Joseph Hospital, Agulu, where a male adult was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty and his body deposited at the hospital’s morgue,” he said.
While condoling with the family of the deceased, the sector commander urged motorists to concentrate while driving and ensure that their vehicles were in good condition before putting them on the road. (NAN)
