The police on Friday arraigned a 43-year-old trader, Sikiru Oladunmoye, in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 600 bags of cement valued at N838,000.
Oladunmoye, who resides in Abule-Egba, Lagos, is charged with two counts of obtaining goods under false pretences and theft.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Emmanuel Ajayi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov. 12, 2018 at Ikeja.
He alleged that the defendant obtained 600 bags of cement valued at N838,000 belonging to Mr Olawale Lasisi and refused to remit the proceeds for the sale.
Ajayi said that all efforts made by the complainant to get his money, failed.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistrate O.O Fagbohun admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Fagbohun adjourned the case until Aug.14 for mention. (NAN)
