The Mountain of Covenant and Evangelical Ministries (MOCEM) on Sunday opened its gates to receive guests from far and near who came to celebrate with members of the church as they celebrate the seventh year anniversary of the church.

The seventh year anniversary was kick-started with a three day revival programme from Thursday through Saturday, where a guest minister Evangelist Peter Adekunle moved mountains and shackles were broken by the power in the word of God.

The seventh year anniversary climaxed with a thanksgiving on Sunday.

In his opening speech, the MOCEM’s General Overseer Pastor Charles Olukayode Oloruntoba, glorified God almighty for sustaining the vision since the ministry commenced in 2016.

Quoting Jeremiah 1:5 Oloruntoba said God told him seven years ago that he wants to use him to reach the nations and to move mountains.

He said he started the ministry experience in 1989, during his university days at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State. He said worked under different General Overseers among whom are; Bishop David Bakare, Redvd Ben Ubeh, Bishop Bankole Jefferson, Revd Joseph Eniayekan, Dr D.K. Olukoya, Prophet Gabriel Onaolapo and Pastor Philip Oladele Ojo all of whom he gained lots of ministry experience.

Oloruntoba praised all members of the church, particularly the leaders of the various groups in the church for their selfless sacrifices, love and devotion which has seen the church wax stronger and stronger.

In his sermon at the Thanksgiving service Evangelist Peter Adekunle who spoke on the theme of the seventh anniversary: God of Elijah, picked his Bible passage from Psalm 116:12 congratulated the General Overseer of the Ministry for staying with God all through the trials and tribulations that the church has passed through.

He said all faithful servants of God have their trials and dark seasons and they could be in the wilderness of life for long period before their ministries become known and celebrated.

Speaking on reasons why Christians must thank God, Adekunle said among others, man must praise God because it was God’s commandment for all humanity to praise him.

Quoting Psalm 148:1, He said everything that God created were meant to give Him praises, adding that it was not only men, but all the angels, the sun, moon and the stars are all created to praise God.

“It would be a thing of shame if men cannot praise the Lord, when all spirits, all demonic powers praise God. He said witches and wizards who knows how to praise the Lord may be getting his gifts and promises, then everyone  who God has preserved must praise God.”

Evangelist Adekunle said praises must go the God who took the ministry from the first day to the point where it is celebrating its seventh year. He said someone who created you have the power to kill you if you are ungrateful.

Citing John 3:16, Adekunle said everyone who believes and accepts Jesus as His Lord he deserves your praises.

Adekunle said God must be praised because he answers prayers. He said God who answers our prayers. He explained that while plants and animals are praising God, we men who were created beautifully do not know how to praise him.

Psalm 123:1 has urged us not to forget his benevolence. He said God is daily loading us with our benefits.

He said you must praise God for his mightiness. In Psalms 140 and 150:4. Even you talent and wealth can be used as living sacrifice for God. He said the highest thing you can give to him, is your life and your heart. Give him every part of you.  Proverbs 8:36. You are not better than anyone who has gone mad.

The thanksgiving service was attended by guests and friends of the General Overseer among them the Chairman of Ifako Harmony Estate Residents Association (IHERA), Alhaji Engr. Isa Egbeyemi, the Treasurer Miss Nsa Eyo-Ita, Public Relations Officer Mr Adedeji Atunwa, Publisher of Sunrise Online Newspaper Mr Yinka Aderibigbe, and a host of others.
