Members of the Agege Molebi United Forum including well-meaning indigenes of Agege, among who are the Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, Sarki Alimosho, Ahmed Haruna Kuraja and a host of other members of Agege Molebi United Forum, visited primary schools in Agege and Orile-Agege, to educate pupils on the dangers of cultism, drug abuse and addiction to pupils.
They also seized the occasion to distribute educational materials to pupils to support their parents.
At the outing, the association visited 12 primary schools in Agege and Orile Agege to distribute exercise books and biros to the pupils as a way of supporting parents and government in educational development of the areas.
The group while enlightening the pupils on the dangers of cultism, drug addiction and violence and other social vices prevalent among school pupils bought 4 pairs of uniforms and shoes for some pupils whose uniforms were below standard.
The group also promised to make the distribution of educational materials a biannual programme, assuring the Local Government Educational Secretary and Head Teachers that all the primary schools in Agege and Orile Agege would be visited yearly.
Speaking on behalf of the Agege Molebi United Forum, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, assured pupils and teachers of the visited primary schools that the association was concerned about the incident of cultism, drug addiction and other related vices in schools.
He promised to educate them on it in another visit to the schools.
The Local Government Education Area Executive Secretary, Mrs Catherine Ogunyemi thanked the association for the visit and for giving back to their community.
Some of the school visited include: Diary Farm Pry School, Agege; Amosun Pry School (inclusive unit for children with Special Needs); Ahmad Memorial Nursery and Pry School, Agege; Orile Agege Pry School; St Peters Blessed Pry School, Oke-Koto; African Church Central Pry School, Agege; and Anwar-Ul-Islam Pry School, Oniwaya.
