Munguno sues for peace, says security chiefs battle ready for Anambra governorship poll

The Nationa Security Adviser Gen. Babagana Munguno has appealed to all stakeholdersand residents of Anambra State embrace peace and allow the governorship election slated for next Saturday to vote without any violence.

Munguno spoke while briefing journalists after the National Security Meeting with the nation’s security chiefs over the Anambra election.

He said the right to vote is the inalienable right of all Nigerians and the Federal Government would do everything possible within the ambience of the law to protect this.

He said the meeting was called to keep abreast of the development unfolding in Anambra and in consonance with the Presidential order that the nation’s security chiefs ensure that election in Anambra holds.

Briefing reporters, the Inspector General of Police Usman Alkhali Baba said 34,000 policement would be mobilised to Anambra to forestall any breakdown of law and order, before, during and after the election.
