Professor Sunday E.Ododo, fsonta, FNAL, GM/CEO of National Theatre hosted the Managing Director of Evergreen Music, Bimbo Eso in his office on Wednesday 1st of September, 2021.
The business visit was to explore ways that the two organizations can work together for the promotion and preservation of Nigeria’s rich Musical heritage.
Reputed to be the largest collector of Music in Nigeria, Evergreen Music Company has songs that are over 100 years old in its repertoires.
The MD said the National Theatre is the first point of call for cultural activities in Nigeria hence her visit to discus mutually beneficial and nationally needed ways of partnership with Prof.

The GM/CEO of National Theatre said the promotion and preservation of cultural heritage is a core mandate of the National Theatre therefore this partnership with Evergreen Music is well within the purview of the National Theatre.
Beyond the National Theatre edifice, such a collaboration which will bring Musical icons from across Nigeria would of necessity result in staging of shows in the locality of strengths of such living legends which might not be Lagos and this would give mobility to the National Theatre. Prof. Sunday E. Ododo, fsonta, FNAL, said music is one of the most unifying factors in Nigeria.
The GM/CEO of National Theatre presented an insignia of the National Theatre to the MD of Evergreen Music, Bimbo Esho and she in turn gifted him a compendium of Nigerian Music that dates from as far back as 1925.
