The newly appointed Director of Public Relations (DPR), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC) Afolabi Babawale, has assumed office after a successful handing over by his predecessor, Commandant Olusola Odumosu who was recently redeployed to head the FCT Command of the Corps.
Babawale joined the Corps in 2005 and served in the Public Relations Unit of Osun State Command since 2008 and became the substantive PRO of the Command from 2010 to 2020.
He also held similar position as the Corps’ image maker in Kwara State command where he was honoured for his excellent performance in promoting the image of the Corps in Kwara State by the then State Commandant.
He served as divisional officer (DO) in Dagbolu, Afon and Gwanara respectively in Kwara North Local Government Area of Kwara State, where he unprecedentedly conducted and supervised the NSCDC training of over 800 hunters and local vigilantes succesfully.
Babawale is an alumnus of the University of Lagos, where he studied Sociology. He is an experienced communicator, excellent broadcaster and seasoned image manager who had produced and presented programmes in various media houses such as NTA, LTV, GALAXY TV, BCOS, OSBC among others.
While taking over from his predecessor, he seized the occassion to thank the Commandant General for giving him the opportunity to serve as the new DPR and promised not to disappoint but to justify his appointment by achieving greater success in his new assignment.
He solicited for the supports and cooperation of all relevant stakeholders and promised to work assiduously to further promote the image of the Corps in line with the vision and lofty aspiration of the Commandant General.
