The Federal Government has commiserated with the Government and people of the Kingdom of Morocco over the devastating earthquake that left over a thousand people dead.
The condolence of the Nigerian government was contained in a statement on Saturday signed by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fransisca Omayuli
The statement read: “The Federal Government of Nigeria commiserates with the Government and people of the Kingdom of Morocco over the devastating 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the South-Western part of Marrakech late on Friday, 8th September, 2023.
“Nigeria is deeply saddened by the impact of the earthquake that left over a thousand people dead and several others injured. “The Government and people of Nigeria extend their deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
