Nigeria records 457 new cases, 17 deaths, says NCDC

SUNRISE NEWS, Lagos, Aug 6, 2020 – The Nigeria’s curator of the Coronavirus pandemic data, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has confirmed 457 new cases of the deadly virus in Nigeria as at Wednesday. Also recorded was 17 deaths.

Till date, 44,890 cases have been confirmed, 32,165 cases have been discharged, leaving a total of 11,798 active cases and 927 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory since the viral outbreak in Nigeria on February 27. A total of 304,221 samples have so far been tested.

In the new 457 cases reported from 21 states – Lagos (137), FCT(76), Plateau (40), Rivers(35), Enugu(34), Oyo(25), Abia(23), Delta(12), Ebonyi (11), Edo(11), Cross River(10), Kwara(10), Kaduna(9), Anambra(7), Ogun(5), Bauchi (3), Imo(3), Nasarawa (2), Osun(2), Ekiti (1), Kano(1).
