SUNRISE NEWS, Lagos, July 25, 2020 Against all expectations, Oyo State came up tops on Friday with 191 confirmed cases of COVID-19, beating Lagos narrowly to a slim second with 168 confirmed cases and FCT 61.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said on Friday that the deadly COVID-19 pandemic have claimed 12 new deaths, taking the number of deaths recorded so far to 845, while 591 new cases of the disease confirmed across the country have taken the daily case load to 39, 539.
Of the figure, 16,559 patients have been discharged, leaving an active case of 22135. Total sampled cases taken by the NCDC across the 36 states of the country and Abuja now stood at 256038.
Highlights of the daily confirmed cases posted by the NCDC at 1.07am also showed Ondo (29), Osun (26), Ebonyi (24), Edo (23), Ogun (14), Rivers (13) Akwa Ibom (12), Kaduna (10), Katsina (6), Borno (4), Ekiti (3), Delta (3), Imo (3), Niger (1).
NCDC said the multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities to COVID-19.
