Nigeria Society of the Blind hold 26th sports day

The Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind (FNSB), Oshodi, Lagos, has concluded plans to hold its 26th Annual Sports Day, scheduled for Thursday, May 23, at the Yaba College of Technology Sports Centre, Yaba, Lagos.

Themed “Breaking Barriers: Vision beyond Sight,”

In a statement by the Executive Secretary of the FNSB, Mr. Oluwamayowa Oke said that the annual sports day aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the visually impaired and to educate the community on the importance of eye care. The event will also serve as a platform to celebrate the resilience, strength, and potential of visually impaired individuals.

He stated that expected at the event include the immediate Commissioner for Education in Lagos State, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, officials of the Lagos State Sports Commission and other dignitaries.

He added that as we approach our 70th anniversary in 2025, we reflect on our journey of over seven decades of training and empowering the blind community in Nigeria.
