President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu

What ought to have become a moment of backslapping for leading All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu took a turn for worse on Thursday as Nigerians have been trolling the leading politician for what they called “an offguard comment denigrating the office of the current Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Tinubu who spoke largely in Yoruba took a swipe at the governor, who he said became what he is today, due largely to his effort.

“This one behind me, Dapo, we made him, when we came here, they were very hostile against him. They didnt even want to see him. They were very unruly and even wanted to tear the party’s flag and stop it from being presented to him. I stood my ground, collected the flag and handed it over to him. Today he is the governor. Apart from God and people like me, who is he that he will now be pompous?

Speaking on his ambition, he said he is the only Yoruba alive who is qualified to succeed President Buhari and urged every Nigerian to rally round him to achieve his lifetime ambition.
