Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases have surpassed 30,000 active cases of COVID-19 in new figures published by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
According to NCDC on Wednesday night, the country recorded 460 new cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases so far to 30, 249, with 12, 373 persons discharged.
The daily figure is however a slight drop from the over 500 new cases being posted by the agency over the past one week.
NCDC also gave the overall death toll as 684, with the daily highest death toll hitting 15 on Wednesday. The NCDC said over 160,000 Nigerians have so far been tested for the Coronavirus, raising fears that many more Nigerians are may yet be captured in the data dragnet of the disease.
