The Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, and Alhaji Hassan Jirgi the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Triple Cee Media Limited, an Abuja-based advertising and public relations firm, have been inducted as fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered).
They are among 100 long standing members of the institute conferred with the fellowship of the institute.
A letter approving the award and signed by the registrar said the president and chairman of Council of the Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered), had approved the awards.
Jirgi qualified for induction based on his meritorious contributions to the development of the Institute, management profession and the civil society at large.
The managing director of Advertising and Public Relations outfit, and Fellow Nigeria Capital Market Institute NCMI, had served as Special Assistant and later Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the Yobe State Governor between 2002 and 2007.
In 2012, he was made a member of the Board of Directors, Abuja Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and during the electioneering for the 2015 presidential election, he served as member, Field Operations Directorate, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abuja.
Earlier, he was variously Senior Reporter with the Borno Community Concord; Editor, Maiduguri Regional Office, Telex Publications Limited Zaria; Chief Correspondent in Borno and Yobe states for the Daily Times of Nigeria between 1989 and 1997.
He was also a BBC Hausa Service Correspondent in Maiduguri and Abuja between 1990 and 2001 and thereafter, Jirgi moved to the National Interest newspaper as North East Correspondent between 2001 and 2003.
In a brief remark after the induction ceremony which took place in Lagos, Jirgi thanked governing council of the Institute which he said is the largest, trans-sectoral and multidisciplinary professional Institute in Nigeria.
