The Mining Team of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), on June 20, intercepted a trailer load of railway slippers buried under sacks of sawdust at the Missu axis of Bauchi State.
Three suspects were arrested and both the vehicle and the recovered items are no in the NSCDC custody for further investigation.

It was the biggest heist in recent time, as the Nigerian Railway Corporation Police Command and other security agencies confront the economic saboteurs vandalizing railway property across the country.
Nigerian Railway Police and the NSCDC, have carried out several arrest, with many of the vandalized materials recovered in Bauchi, Kano, Kwara and Gombe States.

Responding to the development ,the Managing Director of NRC, Dr Kayode Opeifa, reaffirmed the Corporation’s zero tolerance stance on vandalism, stating: “The arrest underscores our zero tolerance toward all forms of railway vandalism. We will relentlessly pursue every individual or network that endangers the safety and sustainability of rail transport in Nigeria.”
