NSCDC seizes 5 truck loads of petrol, confiscates 504 kegs of fuel in two months

The commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Lagos State command Otoihhi  Ehiahhi Cyprian said his command have arrested five truck load of PMS and seized about 504 gallons of 25litres of premium motor spirit (PMS) meant for bunkering in the last two months.

The commandant disclosed the feat recorded by operatives of the command to SUNRISE NEWS Correspondent in his office at the weekend.

The commandant who is just two months in the office said the major challenges facing his command is logistics needed to tackle pipeline vandalistion, oil theft among other crime across the state metropolis.

According to him the NSCDC operatives in Lagos need better equipment to perform better. He noted that pipeline vandals is one of the greatest challenge facing the agency hence the need to fight them to standstill.

He explained that without adequate patrol vehicle and other equipment it will be difficult to fight the vandals hence calling on both state, corporate bodies to come and give support to the agency especially providing patrol vehicle, fuelling, handcuffs and other equipment needed to perform.

Speaking on the ember month he said officers and men of the command are ready to ensure crime free period in the state. Already operatives have been deployed to support other security agencies to tackle traffs situation in the state.

It is important to note that the NSCDC are also incharge of protecting critical National Assets and infrastructure (CNAI)

There job involve taking care of the country’s national assets which includes government assets like NITEL, PHCN among other in ensuring that vandals did not vandalise the properties. Also the anti vandal unit of the agencies in charge of protecting the major oil pipeline across the country.
