The Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, has expressed profound joy over the appointment of the scholar and administrator, Professor Ebunoluwa Aderonke Adejuyigbe, as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo. In his remarks, Professor Bamire lauded the appointment as a “testament to Professor Adejuyigbe’s exemplary leadership, academic excellence, and unwavering dedication to institutional advancement.”

Professor Bamire further highlighted the historic collaboration between OAU and UNIMED, noting that the relationship was strengthened under the tenure of UNIMED’s second Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adesegun Fatusi, a distinguished alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University. He expressed confidence that Professor Adejuyigbe’s appointment would deepen this symbiotic partnership, fostering innovative advancements in medical education, research, and healthcare delivery. “Just as Professor Fatusi’s leadership cemented UNIMED’s growth, we trust that Professor Adejuyigbe’s wealth of experience—forged through decades of service at OAU—will propel UNIMED to greater heights. Her visionary stewardship aligns perfectly with our shared commitment to advancing Nigeria’s tertiary education and health sectors,” he remarked.

The entire OAU family stands in solidarity with her, and we eagerly anticipate the remarkable strides ahead under her guidance.”
