Former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, has explained the comments he made about former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola during a recent political discussion.

Obanikoro said his remarks were intended to express his views on the style of leadership he believes Lagos requires, adding that they should not be interpreted as a personal attack on the former governor.

According to him, every administration is entitled to public scrutiny and differing opinions, especially on issues relating to governance and development.

He maintained that his comments reflected his assessment of leadership and governance in Lagos, stressing that healthy political debate remains an essential part of democracy.

Obanikoro also called for constructive engagement on issues affecting the state, urging political actors to focus on policies and ideas that would promote development and improve the welfare of residents.
