OGIRS goes after tax defaulters, seals up coys

The Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS), today, pasted notice of non-compliance on the premises of  Nigeria Pipelines and Storage Company Limited (NPSC) Mosimi Area Office, Sagamu,  for non compliance to their tax obligation as laid down by Law.

Records have it that NNPC ( NPSC) has been served several demand notices in respect of their outstanding PAYE tax liability for 1999 to 2020 assessment years, Withholding Taxes and other revenue items accrued to them, which if liquidated would amount to over  18 Billion Naira.

OGIRS Team, led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Revenue I, Mr. Jide Sanwo pasted non compliance stickers on the premises of NNPC (NPSC), pledging the Agency’s readiness towards  the recovery of  the debt owed by  NNPC (NPSC), Mosimi.

“We have revenue outstanding here and we want to make sure we bring them in”, he said. 

In their seperate responses, The Chief Security Officer NNPC (NPSC), Mr. Rufus Onoyemu and Mr  Abdulrasheed Ahmed agreed to the fact that the step taken is statutory and promised to revert back to the management for the needful. Mr. Jide Sanwo, reiterated  that all established revenue outstanding shall be reclaimed to the coffers of the state government.
