The initiative of Ogun State Education and Revitalization Agenda (OGSERA) in all schools across the State by the present administration led by Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Executive Governor of the State has been applauded by the overall best teacher in the State , Mr. Odufeso Tajudeen. He also commended the Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology led by Prof. Arigbabu Abayomi towards Education development in Ogun State.
Odufeso who gave the commendation in a live Television programme tagged OGTV splash /Otun Ojo said the initiative has increased the teachers knowledge of being digitally inclined, adding that it has actually improved the standard of education in the State.
He said the habit of keeping and retrieving both students, teachers and parents data has also greatly improved, stressing that it has drastically reduced the cost of usage of paper report card , broadsheet, students attendance register and result analysis.
While urging all teachers to key into the initiative as well as other State of the federation to emulate the initiative, Odufeso said Ogun State is the first to use technology to organized E-learning classes during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, adding that students were seriously engaged in teaching and learning all through the lockdown with the support of All Nigerian Federation of Principal of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ogun State House of Assembly and 29 voluntary teachers.
“I initiated the E-learning where Students were seriously engaged in teaching and learning during COVID-19 pandemic lockdown with the support the president of All Nigerian Federation of Principal of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS),Dr. Womiloju Ayodele, Member Ogun State House of Assembly Hon. Solomon Oluwaseyi and 29 voluntary teachers”. Odufeso said .
Odufeso affirmed that the use of Technology in teaching and learning has come to stay in Ogun State , advising stakeholders in Education to embrace the use of Technology especially teachers as transformation of Education begins with them, saying Parents should always encourage their wards to learn about computer and try as much as possible to support Government in raising the Standard for the future of Education in Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.
