A call has gone out to the individuals in the country as well as corporate organisations to support government in its efforts at combating the prevalence corona virus pandemic, as government alone cannot provide the wherewithal to tackle the disease.
Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele who made the call while receiving on behalf of the state government 200 mattresses donated by Mouka Foam to support the state government, said the donation is essential especially at this time when the state government is making all moves to put in place necessary machineries for treatment and isolation of corona virus patients in the state.
’’ Just yesterday his Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun took people around to show them the isolation centres that the government has put in place as part of his preparedness to manage the corona virus pandemic. We were shown round very impressive 128 bed facility which we were told was the largest single facility available in country today in terms of the number of beds’’ She said
According to her, ‘we also have another facility here in Abeokuta, that is a 100 bed facilities and because we have seen the trend of this disease worldwide, that it tends to start from a little number and then it starts to grow exponentially. A lot of things are in place to slow down the growth so that we do not experience what others have experienced and also whatever provisions that we have to make going forward in case we experience the surge and we have to improve our capacity’ . https://sunrise.ng/nigeria-confirm-12-new-cases-of-covid-19/
While appreciating Mouka for the generous donation, the Deputy Governor said the mattresses will support the state when more isolation and treatment centres are created for possible patients of Corona virus disease, noting that a lot still need to be done in terms of relieve materials for people during the lockdown so as to be able to eat and keep the family going.
Earlier in his remarks, Chief Commercial Officer Mouka Foam, Mr Dimeji Osingunwa, said the company felt the need to partner Ogun State government in their little way, especially at this critical period the State and the Federal government are fighting Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Mr Osingunwa added that Mouka has decided to also support the Ogun with 200 mattresses being one of the essential things government need at this period saying that was why the company sent a team to come and demonstrate our little gesture.
According to him, “we have the large chunk of our business in this environment and across the whole country in Nigeria and we felt that at this critical period and in our usual bid we must recognise and partner with Ogun Sate government as we usually do to communities.” http://news.ogunstate.gov.ng/combating-covid-19-ogun-calls-for-more-support/
