The Ogun State Government says it is determined to capture young citizens towards exploring various aspects of Science, Technology Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), including Digital Electronics and Robotics, Web design and Animation, among others.
This was made known by the Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Mr. Dayo Abiodun, at Ogun TechHub, Kobape, Abeokuta, while declaring open a 3-week summer holiday training for children, organised by the Bureau of Information Technology (BIT) in collaboration with STEAMAcad Africa, themed: “Building A Smart City”.
Represented by the Special Assistant, ICT, Mr. Olakunle Akibola, the Special Adviser said the training would engage the participants in productive skills, especially in Information Technology (IT), noting that the world was becoming technology driven.
Abiodun reiterated the present administration’s commitment to Information and Communication Technology (ICT), saying digitalisation was a priority held in high esteem by Governor Dapo Abiodun, which had necessitated various trainings organised at the Hub.
He implored parents to avail their children the opportunity of the training, which would inspire future generations in acquiring technology skills.
Speaking on their expectations, one of the participants, Daniel Oseni said he was willing to learn new things, particularly web development for his music career in the future.
