Ogun council allocation crises: I stand by my letter – Wale Adedayo (Video)

By Seyi Babalola

The chairman of Ijebu East local government area of Ogun State, Mr. Wale Adedayo, has reacted to the decision of his colleagues to beg Governor Dapo Abiodun over the claim of alleged non-release of allocations due to the local government in the state

Some Ogun State local government chairmen are seen in a video which has gone viral, prostrating to beg the governor over the petitions by one of them, Adedayo, accusing him of non-release of their funds.

Speaking in an interview with Adedayo said the chairmen were only exercising their fundamental human rights and that he had no problem with that.

He described himself as a democrat, stressing that if the others chose to go and beg the governor, that was their own choice.

His words: “We are in a democracy. Freedom of expression is allowed. Everybody has his choice or choices. If it is true that they are giving them their allocation, they should account to their constituents how they have been managing the money.

“I am not disappointed. They are free to take any position they want to take. It is a democracy. I cannot be disappointed that someone is taking an opposing view.”

Wale Adedayo said having petitioned the anti-graft agencies, he was waiting for them to take action.

“We’ll wait for them to do what they are supposed do. I am sure they will do their job. I have no doubt about that,” he said.
