Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has assured of government’s quick intervention on bad roads, which had brought hardship, especially during heavy downpour.
Addressing newsmen after the inspection to some roads in Ogun East Senatorial District of the State, the Deputy Governor said places where the problems occurred had been identified, as well as the causes, saying government would proffer lasting solution to put an end to the challenges.
“We have gone round to look at the solutions that we can put in place to relief them of the challenges. We have also seized the opportunity to see areas that needs quick intervention and we have identified a couple of roads”, she said.
Salako-Oyedele added that, as part of government’s efforts to ease the traffic problem due to bad roads, some palliative works had been carried out at Oru and Ilaporu roads, off Ijebu-Ode.
She said information were being gathered in all Local Government Areas, to select roads that are most important to the citizens, while expressing government’s readiness to fully mobilize workers across towns as soon as possible, so that people would begin to experience improvement in their lives.
The Deputy Governor, who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Kayode Ademolake and other officials of the Ministry, enjoined the people to help government by disposing their refuse properly to prevent blockage of water channels.
Roads inspected include; Ijebu Mushin-Owu-Ikija 4.5 km road , Ogbogbo-Igbeba road estimated at 3.7 km, Balogun Kuku/Oke Aje-Alapo 1.4 km road and Ejirin- Imowo/Oluwalogbon road which is 7.65km.
