Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has given all political appointees wishing to contest in the 2023 general elections 24 hours to leave the cabinet.
The Governor said the decision was in line with the published programme of activities published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday.
A statement with reference no: SSG/Adm/22/1 and addressed to all political appointees, which was signed by the Secretary to the Government Mr Tokunbo Talabi, all appointees with political ambition are to register their intention in the office of the SSG latest Wednesday 2nd of March, 2022 in line with the INEC directive.
The statement directed all such persons to put down their names and await further directive by the government.
Ogun State would be the first to comply with the provision of the Electoral Act 2022, regarding resignation of political appointees.
