A former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has described the giant strides of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun in the housing sector as a milestone that will help the country realise its housing for all policy.
Chief Obasanjo said this in Abeokuta at the Year 2022 Thanksgiving Service of Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC), noting that the achievement was a notable one, especially the Kings Court Estate Phase I recently commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He added that the Estate was built to a standard to promote environmental serenity, economic development and mobilise private investment in the State, encouraging the management and members of staff not to relent in their efforts.
Speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor and Managing Director OPIC Arc. Abiodun Fari-Arole attributed the achievements of the Corporation to the professionalism and commitment displayed by the staff in the discharge of their duties, saying “Although the year 2021 was challenging, we were still able to carry out some landmark projects”.
The OPIC boss who highlighted some of the achievements recorded in the previous year, according to his Press Officer, Mrs. Olabisi Adegbite, include, completion of the Kings Court Estate Phase I, construction of Kings Court Estate Phase II, renovation of June 12 Cultural Centre, and renovation of OPIC House Iseri, appreciated the staff for their cooperation and charged them to be more diligent and dedicated to duties.
In his admonition, a Muslim Cleric, Alhaji Tajudeen Raheem said truth is a virtue that should be upheld at all times and a lie could never be true no matter how it was embellished, urging officers to be truthful in dealing with their customers in order to preserve the image of the Corporation.
In her remark, the Head of Personnel, Mrs. Abidemi Adeyemi appreciated the Management for creating a platform of unity that would allow the staff to have a sense of belonging, promising to ensure that the staffers would be more productive in the new year.
Other dignitaries at the events include; Wife of the former President, Mrs. Bola Obasanjo, some House of Assembly members, Honourables Kemi Oduwole and Kunle Sobunkola, management staff, among others.
