Ogun tax officers trained on electronic data management

The Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS), has trained its Tax Office Managers and other personnel in Electronic Data Management System (EDMS), so as to improve efficiency in tax management administration in the State.

The Executive Chairman of OGIRS, Mr. Olugbenga Olaleye, while declaring open a 2-day training which was in two batches, said digitisation is the future of the world and as it is moving towards paperless generation, hence, OGIRS would not afford to be left behind.

Oyeleye, in a statement signed by the Agency’s Press Officer, Mrs. Abolanle Ogunlami, charged the participants to be focused, and attentive during the training, as well as ensure that they grab much knowledge as they could from the resource person, saying it is an opportunity that would help them in their future endeavours.

“Your presence here is a privilege, as it will help you to understand the end-to-end process of moving your physical files electronically without leaving your table. So, be focused, committed, listened and not get distracted”, he urged.

In the same vein, the Special Adviser on Tax Audit, Mr. Jide Sanwo who spoke during the second day of the training on behalf of the Executive Chairman, OGIRS, applauded the State government for its support of the agency’s initiative toward improving the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), saying capacity building of the officers would bring about optimum performance.

In their separate remarks, the Tax Office Managers of Ayetoro and Sagamu Stations, Messer Kamar Odeogbola and Felix Fagbohun appreciated the agency’s determination to develop the skills of the officers in line with the current trend, promising that the knowledge gained would be put in good use.
