Old Students celebrate Alma mater, donate Science, arts laboratory, bus, others

The Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo and Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Rt Hon. Musashiru Obasa  were among dignitaries at the commissioning of the Arts laboratory donated by old students of Victory High School as part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the college.

Disclosing this at the weekend, the Chairman of the Golden Jubilee anniversary celebration, Mr Uche Johnson Ezeagwu said the old students also held a high octane get together party at the Ikeja School hall where the founder of the school, who was the chief host of the event, Chief Olaniyan, rededicated himself to building a generations of educated Nigerians.

Ezeagwu said the Art Laboratory, donated to the school also include Art Studio, Business Lab, Chemistry, Physics and Biology Lab.

Also unveiled was the prototype of the two storey building and conveniences/School hall with a brand new 32- seat airconditioner bus with a driver to be paid for 2years.

He stated that several products of the school, some of whom have become Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), member of the House of Assembly and six Professors in various fields of human endeavours addressed the students from Monday 30th of September, 2019 and taught current students of the school on how to choose a career path in life.

Speaking with reporters Ezeagwu said the Theme of the Symposium/Event was: “Contribution of Private Education in Nigeria.

According to him, the school is made up of Victory Grammar School, Victory Nursery and Primary School, Victory Vocational School, Victory Remedial Centre, Victory College and Victory School in Odeomu, Osun State.

The School Old Student 81 Set and Chairman Media and Publicity, Mr Niyi Adeyemi, commended the founder for his impactful contribution to Private School Education in Nigeria. He described him as a role model, a loving father and glorified God for the opportunity he received from Him to be among students who are alive to reciprocate his gesture.

The 76 Set Old Student, Mrs Oyewumi Fawole described Victory School as a place to be for a rounded education. Recalling Chief Olaniyan’s philanthropy, Mrs Fawole recalled that several Ode-Omu indigenes who had the opportunity of going to school today can trace the opportunity to Chioef Olaniyan who gives out Scholarship to students and citizen of Odeomu every year.
