In a solemn display of respect and unity, Comrade Olowu Olayemi Omokehinde, the Ogun State Publicity Secretary of the New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP), represented party chieftain Olufemi Ajadi at the 8-day Firdau prayer for the late Mr. Adekoya Rasheed Ajibola. The poignant event took place on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Ijebu Ode local government, Ogun State.
Mr. Adekoya Rasheed Ajibola, aged 70, bid farewell to this world, leaving behind a legacy of children and grandchildren, including the NNPP’s own Hon. Adeleke Adekoya, who is serving as the chairman for Ijebu Ode local government.
Accompanying Comrade Omokehinde at this heartfelt occasion was Hon. (Rotarian) Funso Jide Adekunle, the candidate of the State House of Assembly for Ijebu Ode Constituency in the recently concluded 2023 general election.
Their presence symbolized the NNPP’s solidarity and commitment to its members and their families during times of mourning.
During the gathering, Comrade Omokehinde conveyed the condolences of Comrade Ajadi, expressing heartfelt sympathy for the loss of Mr. Adekoya Rasheed Ajibola.
He prayed that Almighty God would grant the family the strength and resilience to bear the irreplaceable loss. He moved further in wishing all the successors of the deceased and their household a future marked by unity and prosperity.
Among the notable political figures who joined the entourage to Ijebu Ode was Mr. Shafiu Musa, the Ogun State Treasurer of NNPP. Their presence underscored the significance of the occasion and highlighted the sense of community within the NNPP.
As the NNPP continues to stand by its members and their families during both joyous and somber moments, this gathering in honor of Mr. Adekoya Rasheed Ajibola serves as a poignant testament to the party’s values of unity, compassion, and support for its members.
