In continuation of late Hon. Risikat Adegeye’s welfarist legacy, son of the late matriarch Labour Party candidate for the Federal House of Representatives Amuwo-Odofin Otunba George Olawande Adegeye has again put smiles on the faces of widows in the constituency to further radiate the ambience of the yuletide season.
Over three hundred widows benefitted from the largesse afforded by Otunba George fondly called Omo Geye which includes bags of essential consumables like rice, beans, garri, sugar and cartons of indomie noodles as well as cash gift.
Speaking at the forum held to relate with the widows at 512 Road round about in Amuwo-Odofin, George noted that he has good intentions for his constituents citing the fact that the attribute of looking out for other people’s welfare is something his late mother left with him and he has made his resolve to take it a notch higher.
He also persuaded the widows to give him same support accorded his mother especially at the coming election, to ensure he emerge victorious with a pledge that he will not let them down.
George said that: “ I am gonna be accessible, to know what are your needs and problems for proper presentation at the green chamber, I will rely on your support, once you back me and you don’t let me down at the polls, you can be sure of the much more benefits compared with failed promises of the other party that has really brought you no good thus far.
“I am by the grace of God well to do by all modesty but God does all things, my mother has a great plan for Amuwo-Odofin but for her sudden demise, even right on her sick bed she still cared till the point of death.
“I rely on you to attain this goal. Come 25th February 2023 let’s vote Labour Party, what has the other party done for you?
“My mother was taunted due to her love for equity. You cam be rest assured that I can’t forget you once I am in the Federal House of Representatives, it is not about being religious I am not desperate but only focused. I know God will give me my heart desire with your support.
“We are just starting, this is a cash gift and bags of rice, beans, indomie noodles and sugar thanks for always been forthright. “
Some elderly widows at the venue pledged to deliver their area for Omo Geye due to his humble and equally humane nature which they traced to his late mother.
One of the widow Mrs Josephine Atoke Cole prayed ceaselessly for George citing him as a shinning star whose time has come.
“Since they have been coming here to rally support of widows sharing all sorts of items, I have never partake on principle, but when I learnt that it is you son of Hon Risikat Adegeye I had to come out publicly to identify with you due to your good pedigree, you will surely emerge victorious.
“I can tell you for free that my area here is yours for take, I personally will see to it that you win here.
Alhaja Adelabu was also quick to say her prayers for the eventual victory of George, according to her the family has ever been graceful to the widows and all other classes of people and having him as their representative will only orchestrate more goodies for all. She charged all widows to vote Labour Party across board to bring about the desired dividend of democracy.
Some women from the Igbo descents resident in Amuwo Odofin also identified with George’s ambition, they vowed to ensure he wins the election.
Hon. Chika while speaking earlier also urge all to stand with Omo Geye and ensure the desired goal is attained adding that Labour Party symbol is more of a nuclear family comprising the father, mother and child so all present should help spread the good news across.
Hon. Remi Akanbi (Americana) one of the Omo Geye team in his opening remarks appealed to all present counselling them to assess George’s large hearted nature and vote him massively as this attribute is not fake but sustainable all the way.
“The coming election is about personality not party, let’s consider someone with the milk of kindness, his mother was filled with message for the widows, even while on her sick bed.
“I plead with you all to vote OmoGeye on 25th February 2022, let’s vote labour party. Amuwo development is important to us those ruling us for the past 18 years what benefit have we got?
“Please ignore their claim that a leader or political headship said something it is all lies. A leader will always protect his or her personal interest.
“He is a available to serve he is made and he is ready to do your bidding, give him your backing and you won’t regret it.” Akanbi reiterated.
