The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has asked Nigerians not to believe anyone telling them or prophesying winner of the forthcoming general election, Sunrise.ng reports.

Adeboye who disclosed this during his sermon at the first Holy Ghost Service (HGS) held at the Redemption City, said “concerning the forthcoming election, my daddy has not said anything.”

He said though it may be unpleasant news to a nation that has been expecting him to say something regarding the forthcoming election, but “the bitter truth is that God has not said anything just yet regarding the forthcoming election at least, to him.

“On this one (the 2023 general elections), daddy has decided to remain silent. He has not said anything yet on who will win the election. Anyone prophesying that this or that person would win is telling you a lie. God has not said anything yet,” he told the throng of faithful at the vigil.

Nigerians would be going to the polls to elect new set of leaders on February 25, 2023 (presidential and National Assembly elections), while the Governorship and Houses of Assembly election is slated to hold on March 11, 2023.

Adeboye’s continued silence on the 2023 general elections have continued to draw apprehension among Nigerians who have been eager to hear him comment on the election. The cleric, who woud be 81 in March has insisted he is still waiting to hear from God who unlike before has refused to say anything on the polls.

During the sermon Pastor Adeboye charged Christians to remain steadfast in the Lord. He decreed that for as many as desired it, God would begin to speak with them directly as He has been speaking with him over the years before the end of the month.

Sunrise.ng recall that Adeboye has for some time now been insisting that the Lord has not said anything to him regarding the 2023 general elections, fueling speculations that the election may not hold after all.

Adeboye heads the largest Pentecostal denomination in Nigeria with membership in over 195 nations of the world and the biggest single church in Nigeria, who enjoys a place of pride among political and religious leaders, as the church’s prayer camps are a go to for anyone seeking political offices in Nigeria.

The Redemption Camp on regular basis draws monthly, very important personalities, including traditional rulers, captains of industries and political leaders, governors. Nigeria’s Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo remains a Pastor in the church, and a regular face at the church’s monthly or special events.

The January 2023 HGS is the first in year 2023 and has as theme: Wonderful.

Highpoint of the January Holy Ghost Service is the Ministers’ Thanksgiving Service (MTGS), which took place immediately after the Holy Ghost Service programme.
