Beatrice, wife of the former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu was on Thursday denied access to him when the lawmaker appeared before the Uxbridge Magistrate Court in the United Kingdom over organ harvesting charges.
Beatrice had during the hearing asked the court to allow her to appear by his side because they have not seen each other since their last hearing last Thursday
Her request was, however, denied and her husband denied bail
Channels TV reports that he was denied bail because he is a powerful man and is considered a flight risk.
The two sons of the former Deputy Senate President were also in court on Thursday.
Ekweremadu and his wife have been in custody since their arrest over alleged trafficking and an attempt to harvest the organs of an alleged underage person.
The case has been adjourned to July 7 at Westminster Magistrate Court to enable the UK Attorney General, Suella Braverman, determine whether the case will be tried in the country or in Nigeria.
