SUNRISE NEWS, Osun, Oct 4, 2020 It was indeed a great, memorable and joyful moment on Friday, 2nd October, 2020 for Apomu Market Women in Isokan LGA as the State of Osun First Lady; Her Excellency Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola declared open the INTEREST FREE Apomu Women Cooperative.
This Women Cooperative is an initiative of Olori of Apomu Kingdom ; Olori Janet Afolabi where the market women would be given certain amount of money as loan to be paid back within stipulated period of time but without any interest.
The Olori of Apomu Kingdom is taking responsibility of all the interest on the total loans given to the market women.
In his welcome address, the Alapomu of Apomu Kingdom, HRM, Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi, Atoyebi II thanked the State Governor; His Excellency Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola for his unalloyed love and support for Apomu since his selection and installation by the Governor as Royal Father of the ancient town.
Kabiesi also applauded the Governor for embarking on projects/programs/policies that are people – oriented.
The Royal Father used the occasion to charge the entire people of the town to always support the present administration in its quest to positively turn around the economy of the State through its massive infrastructural development and industrialisation.
In her address at the occasion, the Wife of the Governor, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola applauded and appreciated Olori Janet Afolabi for the initiative which she claimed would assist our market women to boost their respective trade.
While congratulating the beneficiaries of the first phase of the initiative, the First Lady charged them to make judicious use of the loan so as not to deprive others the opportunity.
While addresing the gathering, the initiator ; Olori Janet Afolabi was full of joy and happiness for her dream – come – true and thanked the First Lady for the great honour.
She appreciated the support and effort of Kabiesi Oba Kayode Adenekan AFOLABI for the success of the initiative.
She equally thanked the market women under the leadership of Iyaloja of Apomu; Alhaja Falilat Bello, the Palace Chiefs, Alapomu – in – Council for their cooperation and support.
In the entourage of the First Lady at the occasion were the wife of the Deputy Governor ; Mrs Benedict Alabi, Commissioner for Women Affairs, wife of the Commissioner for Finance ; Alhaja Sekinat Oyebamiji, wife of our great State Party Chairman ; Mrs. Gboyega Famoodun and host of others.
Political functionaries also at the occasion included the Majority Leader of the State Parliament who is representing Irewole/Isokan State Constituency, Hon. Olanrewaju Maruf Ajibola popularly known as LARRY – J, Immediate past Federal Lawmaker of Irewole/Ayedaade/Isokan Federal Constituency ; Hon. Ayo Omidiran, the Local Government Chairmen of Isokan, Irewole and Irewole North East LCDA and host of others.
