The workers (Academic and Non-Academic) of the Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), Omu-Ijebu, Ogun State, have alleged the Provost of the College, Dr. Lukmon Adeola Kiadese and the Ag. Bursar Mr. Gbenga Olusanya for sending assassins after them for demanding for their unpaid salaries and other benefits.
The Chairman, Coalition Staff Union of the College (COTAS), Mr. Daniel Aborisade stated this at a press conference organised to register their grievance on threat to life, held at College Auditorium and Degree Conference Omu-Ijebu, Ogun State.
He alleged the Provost of being biased and partisanship in addressing the issue of academic progression of the college, saying that it was quite unusual for the Provost to send assailants after the union members and the other staffs of the college for demanding for justice on their plights.
He observed that the Provost has petitioned several security agents to arrest them on his behalf but all efforts was proved abortive, that was why he now resolved to send assailants after the staffs to snuff life out any members of the union, with the hope that the unionism for justice in that college would be stopped.
“Though the Provost is a member of Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), and he worked assiduously for the emergency of Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade to become the Governor, but now that they have failed, he is now transferring the aggression on the staffs of the college, which is non of our problem, but he is just trying, he will fail,” Aborisade said
He added that the staffs of the college have been going through catalogue of problems since 2009, ranging from unpaid salaries, salary arrears, unremitted pension, cooperative deductions and promotion arrears, noting that all petitions written to the Governor, Police and DSS yield no results.
He appealed to Nigerian Police, Department of State Security (DSS) and other security agents to protect and prevent their lives from been snuff out by the assassins/assailants sent to them by the college Provost, Dr. Lukmon Adeola Kiadese and the Ag. Bursar. Mr. Gbenga Olusanya.
“If anything happens to members of Coalition of TASCE Staff (COTAS) both the Provost and Ag. Bursar should hold responsible as our lives are no more save from assailants being sent to us by these two higher authorities,” Aborisade said
