The Managing Director Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) Fidet Okhiria on Thursday led the executive management team to receive the joint committee on land transportation of the National Assembly, as they pay an inspection visit to the operations of the railway as part of their oversight functions.
The visit is coming on the heels of preparations for the 2022 fiscal budget which is being expected to be presented by Mr President any time soon.
Sunrise News learnt the lawmakers are on ground to see how far the corporation had deployed the funds already allocated to them in the last budget and to ascertain whether there is any merit in the forecast for the coming 2020 budget.
The visit which took the lawmakers to the Apapa Ports as well as some of the new railway stations, among them the Mobolaji Johnson Railway Station, the Bola Tinubu Railway Station at Apapa Wharf Port and the Babatunde Fashola station at Agege.
