Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has declared that no human can give power, except God Almighty.
Atiku’s remark followed the ongoing controversy surrounding the conclusion of the Peoples Democratic Party’s 98th National Executive Committee meeting, which took place in Abuja on Thursday.
On Friday, the 2023 PDP presidential standard-bearer shared his viewpoint with some of his fans across the country via WhatsApp group chat.
According to Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, the party authorized the rebuilding of its Disciplinary and Reconciliation Committees on Thursday as part of its intra-party decisions to preserve its stability.
Among the significant choices reached during the NEC meeting, the party nominated former Akwa-Ibom State governor Emmanuel Udom to lead its Disciplinary Committee, while former Senate President Bukola Saraki continues in charge of its Reconciliation Committee.
However, following the NEC meeting, Atiku reminded his followers in a Whatsapp group that only God can deliver authority.
His statement follows allegations by his fans that he has been betrayed by some members of the party.
The former vice president, who had contested six different times to become Nigeria’s president, but failed, said, “There is God. It is God that gives power, not anybody.”
Responding, one of his supporters on the social media group, said, “This is very true, Sir and this same God will answer your heart desires and ours too.
“When the day comes, we shall all be alive to celebrate together as one big family of good faith.
“All our hand work will not go to waste, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. We shall all walk and work together to witness the night. Victory shall be ours. It is well with you, Sir.”
