The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the opposition was fuelling reports of a plot to remove the National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.
National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka issued a rebuttal on Wednesday.
Morka said the claims are based on the imagination of sponsors “ostensibly unnerved by the remarkable achievements of Adamu” since he assumed office.
The spokesman noted that the party and leaders are focused on building a strong electoral campaign ahead, and will not be distracted by the boring chirps of idle speculators.
He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is welcome to continue to dissipate its energies on innuendoes.
Morka accused the PDP of “chasing after phantom plots in APC rather than concentrate on mending its broken and acrimonious house”.
The party added that the National Working Committee stands united under Adamu’s leadership “with the singular commitment to winning the next general election”.
