Senate President Godswill Akpabio has been elected into the Global Executive Committee of The Inter-Parliamentary Union.
Akpabio made this known in a Facebook page on Friday.
He wrote, “History was today made in far away Angola. Just like we broke the Guiness Book of World Records, a 59 year old jinx was broken few hours ago, when I was unanimously elected into the Global Executive Committee Of The Inter-Parliamentary Union.
“The last time a Nigerian was elected into this position was in 1964. To God be the Glory.”
