The Lagos police have arrested a mother and her lover for alleged inhuman battering her two children aged 5 and 2.
Busola Oyediran and her boyfriend, Akebiara Emmanuel, were arrested on Friday, January 13, by the police after neighbours lodged complaints about their inhuman battering and torture of the children.
The police later visited the hospital where the neighbours had taken the battered children for treatment.
When grilled, the mother said the children fell from a motorcycle and suffered multiple injuries.
Police say the father of the children has been alerted.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin said investigation is ongoing on the matter.
While commending the offenders neighbours, for their prompt action informing the police, he said the police would ensure the children are put in government facility where they would receive adequate attention.
