The police on Tuesday arraigned a 29-year-old man, Odunayo Michael, before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a vulcanizing engine.
The defendant, who has no fixed address, is standing trial on a count charge of stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp Bamikole Olasunkanmi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 20 at 5:00 a.m at Falegan Area in Ado-Ekiti.
Olasunkanmi alleged that the defendant stole a vulcanising engine worth N120,000 from one Mr Babalola Francis in contravention of Section 302 Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Michael Faola, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Aug.15 for definite hearing.
