Police Arrest Man For Attempted Rape in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command said it had arrested a 75-year-old man, identified as Daniel Jaja, on allegations that he tried to sexually assault a 25-year-old woman in Mukuvinyi village, within the Hong Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement shared on its X account on Tuesday, by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the command revealed that the accused had invited the woman to his residence on October 18.

The Police Public Relations Officer explained that during the encounter, the woman resorted to using a razor blade to fend off the suspect when he forcefully attempted to assault her.

Subsequently, Nguroje noted that the suspect is presently receiving medical treatment at a state hospital following his arrest by the police on Monday, October 30.

He said, “Adamawa State Police Command on 30/10/2023 apprehended a 75years old Man for attempting to rape a 25yrs old who visited him in Mukuvinyi Village, Hong local government Area.

“The suspect, one Daniel Jaja, 75 years old on 18/10/2023 in Mukuvinyi village, Hong local government area was said to have invited his victim to his house and Suddenly advanced forcefully to have unlawful carnal knowledge of her until she resisted.

“Investigation, so far reveals that Victim while trying to prevent the act used a Razor blade and cut the Erected Penis from penetrating her leaving him with a serious injury. He is now on Admission in a hospital receiving treatment.”
