The Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, CP Lawan Jimeta, has decorated 269 officers that were newly promoted at the command.
The Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO) of the command, (SP) Ahmed Wakil, disclosed this in a statement he made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Bauchi.
He said that the promotion was part of the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to motivate personnel and strengthen the fight against crime in the country.
He added that the promotion was in line with the police agenda for improving security and stability across the country.
“There was the promotion of 15 officers from the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) to Superintendent of Police (DSP – SP) that includes the Command’s PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakil; SP Agwadu Titus Ilya, SP David Silas and SP M. Goni Aliyu.
“There was also the promotion of 63 officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police to Deputy Superintendent of Police (ASP – DSP) which includes DSP Roseline Okoronkwo, DSP Hassan Hamidu and DSP M.G Hadejia.
” Also, there was the decoration of 62 unconfirmed Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP II and ASP I). Some of them are: ASP Victoria Danbaki, ASP Usman Gambo and ASP Ahmed Sule.
Jimeta also said that 129 Officers were promoted from Inspectors to Assistant Superintendent of Police (Inspector – ASP II). They include: ASP Idi Kida, ASP Zainab Sharif, ASP Bala Munkaila Jibo, and ASP Munkuwe Joel.
Jimeta also said that the process was strictly based on merit, seniority and dedication to duty.
He congratulated the officers, urging them to reciprocate the gesture done to them by the IGP by redoubling their efforts toward fighting crimes and criminality in the state and in the nation at large.
The CP commended the people of the state and the media for their continuous support to the command in giving prompt information and lodging of complaints.
