Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of some occupants of a commercial taxi plying the Emohua Kalabari axis of the East-West road.
The spokesman of the Command, Grace Iringe Koko who confirmed the incident on Wednesday said 2 people were kidnapped by the hoodlums.
Iringe Koko, however, assured that efforts are on to rescue the victims unhurt.
Earlier, a commercial driver who ply the route said the taxi was conveying six passengers including the driver who escaped from the kidnappers.
The driver said the incident happened at the same spot where a similar incident occurred three weeks ago, where about 9 passengers of a commercial bus were kidnapped.
He called for government intervention on the road.
