Popular Fuji Musician and Pata Olokun exponent, Alhaja Iyanda Isiaka Sawaba is dead. Sawaba dies at the age of 71.
The Ibadan, Oyo State capital based Sawaba, whose stage name was “Easy Sawaba” enjoys a huge fanbase in the 1970s and 80s with Pata Olokun music was a contemporary of Fuji creator Sijiru Ayinde Barrister, with whom he had a frosty relationship all through, forcing him to stay in Ibadan.
Sawaba was said to have suffered a partial stroke two weeks ago shortly after returning from a show, and was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, Oyo State, where he has been on Oxygen at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) before he breathe his last on Wednesday.
The renowned musician, a natural cultural poet, was said to have collapsed on his way back from a party two weeks ago.
According to a reliable source, Sawaba has been on oxygen at the Intensive Unit of UCH before he died this morning.
