A humanitarian organisation, Professionals for Humanity (PROFOH) is to partner with Borno State Government to address challenges in healthcare service delivery and environmental issues affecting Borno.
This was the outcome of a meeting held on Tuesday between officials of PROFOH and Governor Babagana Umara Zulum at the Borno State Liaison Office in Abuja.
PROFOH was established in 1998 to address problems in healthcare services, education, environment and safe water operates in the United States, Germany, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa.
Speaking during the meeting, Governor Zulum said Borno has been faced with crisis for over ten years which has severely affected the environment and infrastructures in housing, health and education sectors among others.
Zulum also noted that although the state has been doing well in waste management with Ministry of Environment and Borno Plastic Company, it’s still open to tap into the expertise of PROFOH
PROFOH’s Executive director, Mr. Gbemuotor Kama led a delegation comprising Mr. Kamasoude Wode — Chairman, Dr. Alexander Rochlitz — Board member, Engr Ned Jessup, Engr Mathias Gerhardy — Board member, Mr. Sanusi Mahmud.
On Borno Government’s side at the meeting, were Prof. Isa Hussaini Marte — Chief of Staff to the Governor, Amb. Adamu Abbas, Special Adviser, External Relations and Liaison Affairs, Engr Ibrahim B. K., SSA Technical.
